Gifts that Give Hope, Lancaster - December 12, 2021, 10:00am-3:00pm

We will be part of the Gifts that Give Hope Lancaster fair - selling original artworks, greeting cards and items from our Primitives by Kathy Collaborative Collection.

Gifts That Give Hope fairs are typically held in public venues where shoppers meet and learn about non-profit organizations, make a donation to a cause of their choice in honor of a friend or loved one, and receive an attractive card with a description of their charitable donation. Gifts That Give Hope fairs give shoppers the opportunity to choose meaningful gifts for people on their gift list, while helping others who are not on anyone's gift.

Gifts that Give Hope: Lancaster’s 14th Annual Alternative Gift Fair
Give Peace, Hope, Joy, and Love

In its 14th year of celebrating and encouraging alternative giving, this year’s Gifts That Give Hope Lancaster alternative gift fair will be held Sunday, December 12, at the Farm and Home Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

While at the alternative gift fair, shoppers will be able to engage with each of this year’s 30 nonprofit organizations to best choose who they’d like to support with alternative gifts for loved ones on their holiday gift list; enjoy food and beverages from local eateries; and peruse fair trade goods, social enterprises, business for good, environmentally friendly & ethically sourced gifts in the marketplace.

This year’s nonprofit participants include Aarons Acres, Benchmark, Clare House, Church World Services, Connection Ubuntu, Heifer International, HOPE International, Good Samaritan Services, Habitat for Humanity, Feed my Starving Children, Least of these Ministries, Music for Everyone, Medan Initiative, North Star Initiative, Outreach Paraguay, Rafiki Africa Foundation, Serve Now, Partners in Health, Thriving Villages International, Reach out and Read Lancaster, Mental Health America, Safe Families, SWAN, Junior League of Lancaster, The Potters House, United Way of Lancaster, The Wittel Farm, Lifecycles, Walking Forward Together, & World Bicycle Relief.

Marketplace vendors include Revolution Jewelry, Lush Bazaar, By Peruvian Treasures, Havyn, Style & Purpose, Chestnut Ridge Honey & Beeswax Products, Ghana Initiative, Hope Inspire Love, Timbali Crafts, Binding Love Scarves, Girl Crush, Friendship heart Gallery, Echea Chocolate, We Rise International, & The Get Stuff Done Book Club.

In addition to the shopping opportunities, there will be a Human Rights Day Scavenger hunt taking place throughout the day for interested participants of all ages to take part in to learn about the respective nonprofits in the area who are working to address various articles of the Declaration. First recognized on December 10, 1948, the gift fair carries out this tradition to engage and inform our audience to understand how we all have a role to play in making the world a more just, equitable, fair and peaceful place for everyone. Upon completion of the scavenger hunt, participants can earn a FREE book!

Food is available for purchase throughout the day from some of Lancaster’s favorite food establishments (both food trucks and stands), Stroopies, Homage: Cuisine of the West African Diaspora, Walk-O-Taco, The Cookie Sale to Combat World Hunger, Gourmet Julie’s Way, and Character Coffee Cart (look for special incentives like free coffee/hot chocolate/tea if you are a college student or an RN-bring your ID)

Gifts That Give Hope Lancaster is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote charitable, alternative giving through an annual gift fair that offers local residents an opportunity to purchase holiday gifts in support of nonprofit organizations’ contributions to a better world.
