It’s hard to believe that the Art Auction starts in just one week!! This has always been an exciting time for the Studio & Gallery, especially for the Heart Artists. This is a time to showcase Heart Artists interests, skills and personalities.
2021 started off with the thought that the Art Auction would already be a virtual event, in order to ensure the safety of the Heart Artists. While we learned a lot from last year’s event, there were plenty of challenges to overcome. Covid-19 taught us to appreciate every moment and recognize every Individual. From this mindset, the overall theme of the event, “Celebrate Every Talent”, was born. The plan would highlight every single Heart Artist who wanted to be featured. This year’s Art Auction has really taken shape and we couldn’t be more thrilled about the possibilities for the outcome.
A lot goes into the planning stages of the Art Auction for the Gallery & Studio team, whether it be in-person or virtual. Typically speaking, the art selection process starts around September when pieces are set aside for the Art Auction Committee Members to review. This on-going selection process takes months, with final selections chosen around mid-January. The work doesn’t stop there though! Then all pieces need to be matted, framed and photographed so that no detail is missed. This whole process usually takes about a month to finish; this year was especially busy because of the increase in biddable pieces!
The Development Team has their own tasks to complete as well. Once the theme is established, all promotional materials including invitations and social media graphics for each platform must be created. With it being an online event, the auction webpage needs to be set up, including pictures and descriptions of paintings, Fund-a-Need items and Paint Brush Pull items. Each Art Auction Committee Member has put forth a strong effort to not only make this event as successful as possible, but also promote the Heart Gallery & Studio.
Thank you for enabling the Heart Artists to Express their Capabilities! We hope to be able to actually see you all soon (not just virtually!) and fingers crossed that next year’s Art Auction will be able to be in-person again!
