Happy Holidays from Friendship Heart Gallery

Happy Holidays from Friendship Heart Gallery!

It seems impossible that we’re already in December and that in just a few weeks, 2021 will officially be coming to an end. We wanted to, first and foremost, extend our deepest gratitude toward everyone who has supported us during this transitional time. With the Studio reopening to in-person instruction in March, things had to look a lot different in order to bring back as many Heart Artists safely. It has been no easy feat and without the strong team here at the Gallery and Studio, it would not have been possible. Everyone has been an integral part in getting the Studio to where it is today. We also wouldn’t have been able to do it without our surrounding Lancaster City arts community. We have felt the outpouring of love and support from local galleries, businesses, community artists and patrons. You have helped us keep our doors open and allowed us to continue helping the Heart Artists in expressing their capabilities with the world. We also give a huge shout-out to everyone who donated during Extra Give. Because of you, Friendship Community was able raise a record-breaking $89,400 to further Impact the World of Individuals with Intellectual Disability and Autism!

We don’t know exactly what to expect with 2022 but we are remaining optimistic that good things are in store. We have an exciting project in the works that, unfortunately, we’re not quite ready to announce to everyone yet but keep an eye out in the next coming weeks. We promise it’s worth the wait! We’re also in full-swing preparation for our 19th Annual Art Auction, taking place virtually from March 17th through the 24th. We will be housing an opening reception during First Friday in March to see all of the selected pieces in person! More details on this event will be announced as they become available.

We are also continuously working closely with the Pennsylvania State and Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) to ensure the safety of the Heart Artists and to eventually welcome back all of the Heart Artists – we are currently at 47 Artists. While we wish we could welcome everyone back immediately, we are so incredibly thankful that we were able to open our doors once again.

So with that, we want to say thank you to all of you and we are wishing you the happiest of holidays – from our family to yours!
